Vintage early edition 2097/30 chandelier, designed by Gino Sarfatti. This lamp is a rare brassed (gold coloured) edition, although the brass has faded much due to it's age and it shows some patina in the manor of flash rust. Brassed early editions are rare to find. Early editions (1958-1970) can be recognized by the larger outside placed screws that are tighten the fittings in the rings. Newer editions have very small screws placed completely inside the rings. Designed in 1958, the 2097 suspension lamp by Gino Sarfatti is an iconic piece of design. It was manufactured by Arteluce and Flos. The metal structure is composed of several rays of different lengths, arranged around a large central cylinder. At the end of the spokes, black Bakelite sockets support a myriad of ground glass bulbs. Sarfatti made a bold aesthetic choice for the time: unlike traditional chandeliers, he decided to leave the electrical cables and bakelite sockets visible. The elegant metal structure is then crossed by cables that create an aesthetic tangle in the space.

SoldExceptional and extremely rare three piece Le Mura sofa by Mario Bellini for CASSINA, Italy - 1970's. It is similar to the Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini. However this sofa was shorter in production and much less produced and therefore even rarer. Where the Camaleonda is not so comfortable in use the Le Mura is. Le Mura stands for 'the walls' and this name and design of the sofa resemble the large stones that were used to build the ancient Roman walls and roads. It still has the original Mohair velvet fabric which is of the highest Italian quality and durability. The three sections attache to each other with chrome metal buckles that hook into each other, but they can also be used separate as lounge chairs. The sofa still remains in exceptionally good and beautiful condition with few signs of age, use and wear. The shape is still like it has to be and the fabric is also in very good and clean condition. It has some very light fading to the colour (the fading appears much worse in the photo's but that is caused by the hint of the velvet fabric and the camera lights). The stripes in the fabric are creme beige grey and the other chocolate brown. From some angles the colour of the fabric seems almost grey / taupe and from other angles light brown / camel. All three sections are the same colour, although in the photo's is does not always seem like that. This is a real eye-catcher and centerpiece in any interior and we are very proud to have it in our collection.

SoldFlorence Knoll credenza in pastel grey/green with marble top, USA - designed in 1961 When Florence Knoll revolutionized private office design by replacing the typical executive desk with a table desk, she needed a place for all the filing and storage that had traditionally lived in desk drawers. Her solution, executed in typical Florence Knoll elegance, was the low credenza. “I did it because I needed the piece of furniture for a job and it wasn’t there, so I designed it.” Perfectly proportioned and immaculately detailed, the design embodies Florence Knoll’s adherence to the teachings of her favorite mentor, Mies van der Rohe.
